Tonight we had pesto pasta for dinner , i will make rice krispies squares for tomorrow night .Friday nights we go to Mike and Stephanie's house to play cards . On the menu for tomorrow night it will be Italian sausage and i think salad.

The picture i posted is the cake i made for my son's first birthday , it was 4 cakes high, chocolate with butter cream frosting and fondant . I colour the fondant and painted the letters with gel food coloring . the tigger, piglet and bees are made of fondant colored the same way. Colouring the fondant takes a little time and muscle but i personally think its worth the efforts. The lid of the jar is basically the top layer of the cake that i previously cut to make the cake even . just covert that and ''Voila''. That was my second big project cake so has you can probably see it is not perfect .


You can make your own fondant , i use the marshmallow one . Marshmallow ,powdered sugar and a few tablespoons of water and you got rolled fondant . You will also need some shortening to keep it from sticking to your fingers or the bowl. I will be listing all recipes soon but in the mean time they are all pretty easy to find on the web. Well Evan is waking up i gotta go , ill be back soon .

planning my valentines cake

So here we go with my first blog , i want to make a valentine cake for my husband i dont want it to be typical valentine heart shaped cake ( not that that would be wrong) . I just cant seem to keep it simple i alwats have to complicate things ,... oufff . So what should i do? what says i love you without hearts lol , now am thinking i should go for heart! no, i wont , i cant , can i???? I thing anything chocolate will do , maybe hmmmm i know a 3D heart lol still a heart i know but lets face it who am i kidding its a valentine cake lol. For those who know me , know that i will probably chance my mind atleast 10 times lol

Just got the baby a bottle and decided to get a bit to eat , baguette with olive oil basil and pepper hmmm .

Now where were we!? oh ya me changing my mind , well you will soon realise that i do that alot. but i will finish what i start ,i will just need some thinking to get there so bare with me will i gather my thoughts and share ''my love for cakes'' with you .

I love cooking , in an ideal world i would have my restaurant and make cakes , in my world how ever i bake for fun , friends , husband .. basicly when ever i can. I will add some pictures of some cakes and toppers i have made feel free to coment or ask questions , althought i am not a professional i will be glad to give you my advice and or opinion and who knows prehaps we can learn together ...why not!hmm the smell of fresh basil is devine. I will also try to include little clips of how to's for exemple : making fondant roses, snowmen , santas , bees and even some pooh bear somewhen in there . who knows maybe we can make a project together !? Let me know what you think...who ever you are.Well cooking means dirty dishes so off i go until next time.
